Landon's Trip

We took Landon on a "big brother getaway" for his half birthday this weekend. We left Jordana with Matt's mom and it was really hard to be away from her for so long, but it was good for her to spend some time with someone other than me and she had a lot of fun and was a good girl!

On to Landon's trip. We left Friday morning for Seattle. On the way there we stopped at a park that was right below Mt. Si. It was incredibly gorgeous there.

It was a really pretty day in the city. A perfect 85 degrees. We took Landon straight to the Aquarium when we got to town and grabbed some lunch on the way.

Landon loves fish! He really wanted to see a whale at the aquarium, but unfortunately there isn't really room for one there! He was happy to see what he did though. He saw Otters, Seals, Star Fish, Jelly Fish, Small Sharks, all types of fish and other sea life.

After the Aquarium we checked in to our hotel and changed in to our Cougar gear to go to the Mariner's game! We went to the game around an hour early, because it was a 7pm game and Landon's bed time is 8pm. He lasted about 2 hours at the game and he had a lot of fun. He got a couple of baseball cards, drank some Sierra Mist, ate some food and watched his favorite player Ichiro run around playing ball. We ran in to a lot of Cougar alumni within the much larger sea of Huskies! It was a gorgeous night for a baseball game.

We returned to the hotel and ordered some room service. We got Landon a roll out bed and he layed in it for a minute and got up in the dark. Matt and I just had him get in to bed with us and he fell right asleep, but he kicks and moves so much in his sleep that I got up and slept in his little bed all night! We all got a great nights sleep and we also re-confirmed that we are not cut out to be a co-sleeping family! Landon is such an excellent sleeper at home and on trips and at other people's houses. As a parent that is a great relief! He napped in the car for 2 hours to and from Seattle like a champ.

When Landon's room service arrived he said, "It's yummy time!" And yes I let him have french fries...he was on vacation.

We went to the Zoo right when it opened on Saturday. Landon was over the top excited, as usual. I think that at a lot of the time he was scouting for a new girlfriend, because he was running up to every little girl and laughing at the animals with her. He talked about the Hippos a lot, so I think that maybe they were his favorite this time. He got a baby Jaguar at the gift shop and Jojo got a Flamingo.

When he saw the Elephant he called it "Jumbo" and he said "Hey, Jumbo! Get in the water!"
When he saw the Hippos he said, "I want to ride it in the water!"

After the Zoo we went to the Space Needle. It was a long line to go up! With a 2 year old, you are instantly stressed out by any long line. Landon is hyper and moody, so that makes things even harder. I have to say that he was a really good boy (he always surprises me) during the hour long wait in a hot sun. We were sweaty and hot by the time we got to the elevator to go up the Space Needle and Landon was super excited to ride on the Space Needle. He yelled, "We're in Seattle!!" and everyone in line looked at him and laughed.

Landon said, "Mama, can we ride on the Space Noodle to Jupiter?"

After we spent like 10 minutes on top of the Space Needle (which was similar, yet much more slanted than the Empire State Building) we rode the elevator back down and went to the EMP Museum. It was incredible, yet much more of an older child or adult type of experience. Landon was still a very good boy and just wanted to walk around and look at all of the music and pop culture memorabilia.

Landon is so much fun to take to see the things that he loves. If you know him then you know that he is very excitable. He shows his enthusiasm more than any other little one around. He often freaks other kids out with how happy and loud he is, but he always makes everyone laugh. You can't be around Landon without a smile on your face and he brought smiles to a lot of stranger's and children's faces this weekend, but none were bigger than his mom's and dad's.
