The Emerald City

We had a fun, however, short excursion to Seattle this past weekend. Matt works a lot, so I grabbed ahold of a free weekend, found us a hotel in downtown Seattle and some tickets to a Mariner's game and we were off. This is not an abnormal trip for us, but it always brings back memories of our earliest days together. Back then we would go to Seattle or Portland what seemed like every weekend. At the time it was just nice to get away together and I think that built the foundation of our friendship- not to mention our marriage.

We were lucky enough to have nice weather. Our hotel was hilarious in some ways...it was Mod in decor and bright orange and silver covered everything...we loved it.

This was our room's door....

We ended up walking down to the Space Needle and then down along the waterfront. You would have thought we were tourists or something. I spent some summers in Seattle growing up and it is nothing new to either of us, but sometimes a little child like exploration can be good for you. Our minds were cleared and our spirits were refreshed. We came back renewed.
